Original Item: Only One Available. This is a U.S. 48-star national flag in great condition, measuring approximately 4 feet by 6 feet. It features the 48-star configuration carried by the United States throughout the Second World War.
The flag is constructed of cotton, with the body sewn together in the traditional manner and the stars printed onto the blue canton. The 48 white stars represent the states of the Union prior to the admission of Alaska and Hawaii. This configuration became the official United States flag in 1912 and remained in use until 1959, making it the familiar American flag seen throughout both World Wars and the Korean War.
This example is unmarked, with no visible maker, manufacturer, or other identifying information. It presents well in the larger 4' x 6' format and retains its original two hanging grommets.
