Original U.S. WWII Engraved Purple Heart Medal Grouping - Jay H Raney

Original Items. Only One Group Available. This is a very interesting medal grouping to Jay Henry Raney, who was wounded in action during World War II. The grouping includes his Machine-engraved Purple Heart, his Bronze Star, other medals, as well as two photos of a WWI soldier that could be his father, and an unrelated dog tag.
The group includes:
- Purple Heart Medal engraved JAY RANEY 34287830. Good condition overall with some fraying on the ribbon. Ribbon and case included, case heavily damaged.
- American Defense Medal with ribbon and pin.
- Army Good Conduct Medal
- Bronze Star medal with ribbon, pin, and case.
- WWII Victory Medal and ribbon.
- Two photos of a WWI soldier, possibly his father?
- WWII Dog tag to Ray K. Landvater, unrelated to group and no results come up.
In our research we have found that Jay Henry Raney was admitted to the hospital in January 1945 as a battle casualty, wounds penetrating with nerve involvement only, location Brain, caused by an artillery shell. He was discharged in February 1946 with a disfigured skull and passed away in 1966, only listed as a disabled veteran of World War II. We could not find his unit but with enough work it could be found.
