  • Original Item: Only One Available. These 1/2 lb TNT bricks were used by various Army, Navy, and Marine engineers and demolitions units. FM 5-31, Boobytraps and Landmines, explains the use of the half-pound TNT block with several fuses, including how to arm and disarm them. The TNT block could be used with the delay fuse, release fuse, or pressure fuse. It measures 3¾" x 1¾" x 1¾”.

This 1/2 TNT block is completely empty and totally Inert. This example is in compliance per the BATF regulations.

Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are NOT considered NFA weapons. This example is in total compliance and is totally inert. NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT.

This thick cardboard block is complete with both end caps present. This example appears to have never been used or rigged to be used. Both end caps are still attached firmly, so after the explosives were removed, the removed cap was re-attached or glued.

All markings are still 100 percent visible and able to be ready easily:

    HIGH EXPLOSIVE
    TNT
    ½ POUND NET
    CORPS OF ENGINEERS, U.S.A.
    DANGEROUS

The back side of the tube is as follows:

    FOR FRONT LINE DEMOLITION ONLY.
NOT TO BE USED FOR GENERAL BLASTING.
DO NOT USE UNDERGROUND OR IN ENCLOSED
    SPACES BECAUSE OF POISONOUS FUMES.

This example is in lovely condition with some staining and wrinkling to the outside paper and only minor rust on the end caps, definitely a rarity. Due to the nature of these items, very few examples survive to this day. Most, if not used, were intentionally destroyed for obvious reasons! This is an excellent opportunity to obtain a scarce piece of U.S. Military Ordnance.
