  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is an outstanding sealed can of liquid vesicant detector paint. This paint was commonly used by U.S. paratroopers as a method of camouflaging their helmets. When the normally brownish green paint would come into contact with chemical weapons it would turn pinkish red - warning the troops of the presence of gas. Although the contents are still liquid, we can make no guarantees regarding the functionality of the paint.

The can has 10 31 / 42 embossed on the lid, which may denote a date of 1942. There is some material stuck to the side of the tin but we aren’t sure if this is paint or something else. It doesn’t appear to have been opened before but we cannot say for certain. There is still a lot of the liquid inside.

Comes ready for further research and display.
