Original U.S. WWII Case "Pig Sticker" Wood Handle Fighting Knife with Correct Belt Scabbard - Excellent

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. Here we have a wonderful example of a hard to find WWII fighting knife in really good, near unissued condition, complete with its original belt scabbard. This lovely "Pig Sticker" knife was made by Case cutlery, one of many companies making similar knives. During WWII there was a very large demand for fighting knives, particularly in the Pacific theater. Not all soldiers would normally be issued them, so the private market for fighting knives was booming.

We have seen some examples with single edged spear point blades, as well as some with jigged bone handles, but only one with the bowie blade, which was not chrome plated. This example is a double-edged spear point with wood handles, not the often encountered jigged bone style. There look to have been several "unknown" patterns of these knives, and like this one, they were only marked CASE on the blade ricasso, which is widened to also be the crossguard. Condition is good with just a few minor issues such as staining on the blade, nicks in the edge and open grain wood grip scales.

Overall this is a great chance to own a wonderful variant of the Case "pig sticker" Knife, complete with an original correct scabbard. This would be a fantastic way to fill out World War II US military knives. This is the best example we’ve ever seen! Ready to display!
