Original U.S. WWII Captured German Munition Canister with Send-Home Address

Original Item. Only One Available. This is a really tremendous souvenir piece sent home to California by Private First Class Schneider, 463rd Ordnance Evacuation Company, from APO 230 in New York City. He likely returned stateside and sent it home from New York as it was easier overall. The canister measures 18” tall with a 10” diameter. The lid latch still functions well, but the bottom of the canister is heavily rusted, so caution should be taken.
The writing on the top of the canister reads:

The original German markings on the canister are heavily faded and barely visible, reading HECRES-MUNITION GESAROTGEW 14,5K.
