Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice Bowie-style knife from the Philippines, brought back by a USGI after WWII. It is quite impressive, having an attractive 8 1/4 inch clip-point "Bowie" style blade. This makes it just ideal for use as a fighting knife, which could possibly be what it was intended for.
Overall length of the knife is 13 3/4 inches, and has a very nice curved handle, held in place with a brass octagonal nut. There are also some brass decorations on the handle.
Knife is in excellent condition, with a lovely aged steel finish and patina. Edge has no major chips, and is actually still quite sharp. Scabbard is also in good condition also, with a nice belt loop.
