Original Item: Only One Available. Next to headgear, items like Cigarette Lighters are some of the most personal items a Militaria collector can obtain. Not only are they personal items in their own right, but the details of them can serve as an identifier of the owner to whom the item belonged. An indicative item of one’s personality, these have become very sought after items on the collector’s market the last several years.
This lighter has the Patent Number 2032695 on the bottom and has much of the original black crackle paint present. Between the paint and the number, this puts date of manufacture some time between 1942-1946. A lot of zippos from this time period were stamped with 203695 which was a factory error, fortunately this one has the full number. The most interesting aspect of the lighter is the Soviet enam star soldered on the front. This was most likely done by a Soviet soldier after making a trade with an American soldier, but the story has been lost to time. The lighter still retains a wick and a functional strike wheel, we believe that once it is fueled up and has a flint put in it, it should work just fine if you would wish to do so.
A lovely example ready for further research and display.
