  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is a wonderful example of a hard to find WWII fighting knife, a Ben Rocklin "Japanese Sticker", complete with its original scabbard, both in great condition. During WWII there was a very large demand for fighting knives, particularly in the Pacific theater. Not all soldiers would normally be issued them, so the private market for fighting knives was booming. Many of these utilized repurposed blades or other items as a source of quality steel, and the Ben Rocklin knives made in Chicago utilized old used files to make his from old files, ground down into knife blades. We found a very good transcription of a 1945 article in Yank magazine on the U.S. Military forum, detailing his history. We have added pictures of the article and an advertise

The example clearly shows the cross hatching on the spine from when it was a file, a very common aspect on these blades. We have compared the handle and scabbard to other known examples, and everything is 100% correct. This includes the metal collar on the grip, the two pins on the turned wooden handle, and the two pins attaching the guard to the top of the handle. The blade is hollow ground, which is also correct, as is the scabbard. These were not made with any type of markings.

Overall this is a great chance to own a very Ben Rocklin Knife, complete with an original correct scabbard. This would be a fantastic way to fill out a World War II US military knives. Ready to display!
