Original U.S. WWII B-24 Hand Painted 8th Air Force A-2 Flight Jacket with Research Binder - 448th Bomb Group
Original Item: One-of-a-kind. Genuine World War Two US Army Air Forces Issue A-2 Flight Jacket Bearing Tail Markings of the 448th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force to B-24 Painted on Front and 30 +/- Mission Bombs Painted on reverse side. Jacket bears a Wartime added Mutton Collar of which other known examples exist that were also worn by members of the 448th BG (See Included Research and image). Jacket is an early Rough Wear contract bearing original working zipper, waistband, liner, size label and contract tags with wartime replaced cuffs. The 448th was a "workhorse" unit of the "Mighty 8th" Air Force stationed in Seething, England, flying over 6,700 sorties and losing 101 aircraft. Overall condition is good but there is damage under right armpit and left hip pocket flap. Size is 36 US.
