Original U.S. WWII Army Air Force Waltham A-11 8 Day Cockpit Clock

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. Made by the Waltham Watch Company during World War Two for the United States Army Air Forces or Navy. The Cal. 22s movement is an 8-day 9-jewel mechanical type. The dial is 1-7/8" and is made of bakelite with a short winding knob. The movement is excellent, and the clock runs perfectly. The bakelite housing still retains about 75% of its original white paint with the original paint on the clock face hands, numbers and tack marks though they have faded due to age. The glass dial cover has unfortunately cracked. The markings on the back have faded and can barely be seen, but Waltham Watch Co can still be read at the bottom. This is still an amazing piece of history that is worthy to any Naval or Airforce collection!

NOTE: This clock is sold as is, and we cannot guarantee that it will run when received. It is being sold for collectors purposes only.

There were three makers of these particular 8 day clocks: Elgin, Waltham, and Bulova. These 12 hour clocks were used in the cockpits of B-17s and B-29s during WWII. Named the A-11, they matched the name of the accompanying wrist watches also used by pilots of the time.
