  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is a fantastic example of a hard to find American bomber manual bomb release handle, the Mk 4. The Bomb Release Handle Mark 4, Mod 3 is used for arming and releasing 2 bomb racks of the type usually mounted under the wing of an airplane. It is also used with bomb shackles of the mark 3 and mark 4 types.

The assembly consists of a metallic case with a knob-headed release handle extending from the top and a separate arming handle at the base. These handles activate levers in the case to which the bomb rack cables attached.

By shifting the release handle into either one of 2 slots, labeled SELECTIVE L, or SELECTIVE R, the selective lever connected to the left or right bomb rack is engaged. When the handle is shifted into the center or SALVO slot, both selective levers are engaged and the bomb racks release simultaneously.

The arming handle is normally set in the SAFE position. Sidewise pressure on the lever shifts it to the ARMED position. This pulls the attached cable, removing the wires from the fuzes and arming of both bombs.

    Dimensions:
    Approximately 10.5” x 6” x 3.5”
