Original U.S. WWII Airborne Paratrooper American Flag Invasion Jacket Patch - Unissued

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. Early during WWII's "Operation Torch", all soldiers were issued gauze American Flag armbands to be sewn on the shoulder of their uniforms. They unfortunately did not hold up well, and the practice was abandoned, except in the case of Paratroopers in the various Airborne units.

This is an excellent unissued example of a linen U.S. Flag "Invasion Patch", intended to be worn on the shoulder of the U.S. Paratrooper Jump Jacket. it has no evidence of being attached to a jacket, and has never been reduced in size for fitting to a jacket.

The printed flag measures 5" x 3 1/4", with the backing being 9" x 7 1/2" in size. It has some overall age toning, but is otherwise mint. Ready to display!
