Original Item. Only One Available. This is an outstanding 8th Air Force Captain’s uniform jacket, in Army Regulation with a contract date of August 11th, 1942, and a size of 38R. The Ike jacket is unnamed, but bears outstanding British-made insignia, including the bullion 8th Air Force patch and the ribbon bar. The included trousers are named to a Lt. L.B. Hill, but we could not identify this officer.
The jacket bears Captain’s bars on the shoulders, a bullion British-made 8th AF patch on the left shoulder, US & AAF officer’s collar insignia, and a great British-made ribbon bar on the left breast pocket with the Air medal with 3 bronze OLCs and 1 silver OLC, and the European-African-Middle Eastern campaign medal with two stars. Over this is a great Sterling pinback set of Pilot wings. There are three overseas stripes on the left cuff.
The interior shows good service wear with the tightening band in good order. The trousers are tan-colored and are named as mentioned.
