  • Original Item: Only One Available. The 75 mm gun, models M2 to M6, was the standard American medium caliber gun fitted to mobile platforms during World War II. They were primarily mounted on tanks, such as the M3 Lee and M4 Sherman, but one variant was also used as an air-to-ground gun on the B-25 Mitchell medium bomber aircraft. There were five main variants used during the war: M2, M3, M4, M5 and M6.

Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are not considered NFA weapons. This example is in total compliance and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT.

This is a great example of a WWII 75mm artillery projectile and casing. The piece measures roughly 23” tall and has a 3½” base diameter. There is some loss to the finish on the casing. The body of the projectile is painted yellow and is marked:

    (FLAMING BOMB)
    822W
    B.C.
    (QMC MARKING)
    W. & M.C.
    L, 11743-51

The fuse appears to be a transit fuse and is marked:

    P.D.F.-M.V.-A.M. CO.

The fuse still unscrews to allow inspection of the interior. The bottom of the shell casing reads:

    AM. LOT
    75MMG
    LOT 2288-39 SCOVILL

A great example, ready for further research and display.
