  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is a fantastic example of a banner that would have been proudly displayed by a business after selling their individual quota for War Loans/Bonds. This award was given to the men and women who made up a volunteer War Bond sales force with their company. Millions of Americans participated in volunteer efforts during the war years. Through eight separate War Loan Drives, over $185 billion was raised for the Treasury. With a national goal of raising $16 billion dollars, the Fifth War Loan, which ran from June 12 through July 8, 1944, was the most ambitious. There were quotas for states, counties, and even individual companies.

The banner itself is in wonderful condition with all details and components that make up the award, including the hanger/tassel present on the original wooden dowel. The rayon silk like material appears to have once been a white color now aged to a lovely beige.

There is not damage present and it presents itself quite nicely.

Comes more than ready for further research and display.
