Original U.S. WWII 51st Air Service Squadron Walt Disney Trench Art Engraved M1910 Mess Kit with Huey, Dewey, and Louie Duck - Utensils & Dice

Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a tremendous M1910 mess kit engraved by a member of the 51st Air Service Squadron who served from September 18th, 1940 until September 12th, 1945 as is engraved on the lid. On the lid of the mess kit, the soldier engraved the three nephews of Donald Duck, Huey, Dewey, and Louie Duck, carrying a B-26 Bomber through the air.
The mess kit is dated 1918 by L.F&C., and retains its fork, knife, and spoon inside. They are all WWII manufacture. Also in the mess kit is a .45 ACP round for an M-1911 Colt pistol, of which the primer has been spent, and a pair of die, definitely WWII period.
The 51st Air Service Squadron served with the 42nd Bomb Wing, supporting the 17th, 319th, and 320th Bombardment Groups, all of which saw extensive combat in B-26s. We haven’t found reference to the unit using the three duck nephews in their insignia, so this is likely a unique piece done by the soldier in his own imagination. What a unique piece! Unfortunately this set isn’t named, truly its only flaw.
