Original Item: Only One Available. Fine condition hardcover vintage book titled "507TH PARACHUTE INFANTRY, 1943". Printed by the Bradford-Robinson Printing Co., Denver, Colorado, 1943. Size 9" x 12", approx. 150 pages.

A scarce early history of the regiment, which later dropped into Normandy on D-Day with the 82nd Airborne Division and suffered over 200 casualties in just two days. They would eventually attach to the 17th Airborne Division and spearhead the division's assault in Operation Varsity. Fought at the Battle of the Bulge. This book chronicles their early stateside training, with a largely pictorial account of their efforts accompanied by brief narratives, posed and captioned portraits by company, images of the men at work and leisure, etc. Full roster with ID's group photos.Not a combat history, but a scarce stateside airborne unit book with some great content. Photo of the giant dog mascot "Chung," a Great Dane, and his handler. Many of the men in this book went on to participate in the D-Day jump in Normandy. Excellent photos of early war airborne uniforms and gear, football style helmets, jump boots, insignia, etc. Condition Very Good.
