Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a great WWII U.S. Ike Jacket which is attributed to Sergeant Steven Albert Blanarik, who served with the 4th Infantry Division Headquarters during World War II. The uniform is not named but originally came from the family with the attribution.
The uniform jacket has a 4th ID patch on the left shoulder, Sergeant chevrons on both sleeves, three overseas stripes and a service stripe on the left cuff, and US & Infantry collar insignia. There is a Rifle and Rifle-A proficiency badge on the left breast pocket, and over the pocket is a stitched 4-place ribbon bar with the Bronze Star Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the American Defense Medal, and the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five campaign stars and an invasion arrowhead, denoting that he participated in the Invasion of Normandy. Over this is a Combat Infantryman Badge.
There is a size tag on the interior, 40R, and the jacket is missing the button that accompanies the snap along the bottom edge.
Steven Albert Blanarik was born December 25th, 1919 and enlisted in the Army on October 27th, 1941. He served overseas from January 2nd, 1944 until July 10th, 1945, seeing five major campaigns and the Invasion of Normandy. He was discharged on September 12th, 1945. He passed away on March 5th, 1993 at the age of 73.
