  • Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is the medal & insignia grouping of 2nd Lieutenant William C. Fisher, 453rd Bombardment Group, 8th Air Force. Fisher was awarded the Air Medal on August 4th, 1944, the citation for which is included in this group.


    The grouping includes:
    - Fisher’s Air Medal and ribbon with the original citation, 8 x 10½”.
    - Fisher’s pilot’s wings made from bullion.
    - Fisher’s sterling pilot’s wings. 
    - 8th Air Force Bullion patch.
    - 8th Air Force embroidered patch.
    - Small photograph of Fisher with his crew. 3½ x 5”.
    - Fisher’s crusher cap hat badge.
    - Fishers’ 2nd Lieutenant bar, US & Aviation collar insignia.


    William C. Fisher was born on April 15th, 1920 in Rochester, New York. He enlisted in Battery D, 209th Coast Artillery on November 7th, 1940 in New York. He remained in this unit until he was commissioned as an officer on February 25th, 1944. He served with both the 732nd and 734th Bombardment Squadrons, 453rd Bombardment Group.
