Original Items. One-of-a-Kind. This is a great set of three double-sided scrapbook pages with 42 photographs total, all being taken in Japan or the Philippines on Clark Field in 1945. The pages have 15 fantastic photographs of nose-art on B-24 Liberators and C-47 Skytrains, which are extremely difficult to find on their own. The pages each measure roughly 8½ x 10½”.
Some of the aircraft nicknames include Still Putting Out, Undecided, Jungle Bum, Rum and Coke, Million $ Baby, Sleepy-Time Gal, Kansas-City Kitty, Mabel’s Labels, The Dragon and his Tail, Titan Temptress, Ruptured Falcon, and Modest Maiden. There’s also a great shark’s face on the front of one.
Other photos show Japanese civilians, along with seven photos of crewmembers in front of a location board for the 40th Troop Carrier Squadron, “Jungle Skippers”.
A fantastic lot of original nose art photographs. Comes ready for further research and display.
