  • Original Group. One-of-a-Kind. This is a tremendous 101st Airborne Grouping with an empty reserve parachute container, as well as a great deal of ephemera, to Staff Sergeant John H. Miller, Company C, 327th Glider Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division.

    The group includes:

    - Miller’s patches including a 101st Airborne Patch in two pieces, a Glider airborne patch, an Allied airborne patch, and his two overseas stripes.
    - Original WWII Airborne Drop Container identification light. These were placed with payloads of supplies meant for paratroopers, and this is one that Miller brought home!
    - October 1942 dated Reserve parachute container, missing parachute. This is a great piece brought back by Miller, an empty parachute container! Manufactured in Trenton, NJ.
    - Framed Photograph of Miller in his uniform. The photograph appears to be a reprint, but it’s a great addition to have a photo of the soldier with the insignia! Frame is 8¼ x 10”.
    - Porcelain plate made in Veghel for the 101st Airborne. Beautiful piece.
    - Photographs including of the plane Miller jumped from, and some from Berchtesgaden, where AH’s Eagle’s nest was.
    - Great 101st Airborne Division Association decal on its original paper!
    - Miller’s Combat Infantry Badge, marked Sterling.
    - Miller’s Glider wings, marked Sterling
    - Miller’s WWII Victory Medal & Occupation of Germany Medal.
    - Assorted American legion pins.
    Japanese-made lighter.
    - Soldier’s basic field manual.
    - Miller’s 327th Glider Infantry leave card which names Miller and his serial number, 36801248
    - Pamphlet given by Headquarters to destroy German ideology.
    - Two Western Union telegrams from John to his wife alerting her that he’s returning home soon.
    - Newspapers assorted.

In researching Miller, we found another small grouping online of his which contained a Bronze Star, so we believe him to have been awarded the Bronze Star, although we can’t prove this as we can’t find his citation.

This is a phenomenal grouping to one of the most sought after regiments of World War II, the 327th Glider Regiment! Comes ready for further research and display!
