Original U.S. WWII 1944 dated USMC Musette Bag by Boyt with 1943 Dated Camouflage Shelter Half

Original Item: Only One Available. This is an excellent example of a original USMC marked musette bag, which contains a very nice reversible camouflage shelter half. The musette bag is a scarce item that is part of the Marine Corps 782 gear. Light tam canvas construction, with slightly darker OD Green #3 canvas trim. It is U.S.M.C. marked under the flap. It is complete with proper shoulder strap and sliding canvas shoulder supports. This unique piece of equipment can be worn as a knapsack or shoulder bag, and is maker marked and dated on the inside:

Boyt Harness Co. of Des Moines, Iowa, was a major supplier of leather and canvas goods during WWII, and still exists to this day. The musette bag does have a bit of wear in places, but looks to be mostly related to storage, and not service use. The enclosed shelter half is also maker marked with a WWII Date on a faded label:

The shelter half does show light use, with some small rips and tears near the grommets. It also has remnants of rope used the last time it was set up. It's is in overall very good condition.
