Original U.S. WWII 1942 Dated M1 Garand Rifle Leather Jeep Scabbard by Hess & Hopkins Leather Co.

Original Item: Only one available. This is an excellent condition M1 Garand rigid leather scabbard by Hess & Hopkins Leather Company. The scabbard is clearly marked with a nice deep and crisp “U.S.”, “Hess & Hopkins Leather Co.” and “1942” stamp. This example is invery good original condition, with the leather being supple and pliable, and retaining much of its original rich russet color. The stitching is complete, all rivets present, leather final cap intact, and roughly 95% of the original brown paint on the cocking lever guard is intact. The leather securing straps are intact, with the buckles having a good amount of original paint as well. Measures approximately 30 inches in overall length.
These scabbards were used to attach to Jeeps, motorcycles, horses and other transportation equipment. This kept the rifle at the ready, while also keeping it well secured and protected. This fine example is marked:
