Original Item: Only One Available. Adolf H, Tojo and Mussolini were the war’s three most recognized villains. Thousands of ashtrays, dart boards, badges, toys, coloring books, posters, comics and many other homemade items such as this one. Homefront collectibles are starting to become popular again and are surprisingly difficult to find at times.
The ashtray was produced by the Bassons Dummy Products in 1942. The ashtray depicts a caricature of the fascist Italian leader Benito Mussolini, mouth wide open and ready to receive your cigarette butts. Normally there would be a paper label present on the bottom but unfortunately it went missing years ago. We were lucky enough to find an image of it and would read as:
RAM-BUNK-SHUS BENITO
MUSSO’S MOUTH IS LARGE AND ROUND
THE NOISE IT MAKES IS AN AWFUL SOUND
HERE’S A LIKENESS OF HIS FACE………………
DUMP YOUR REFUSE IN THE PROPER PLACE

The condition is quite nice and it does show that it has been used as intended. There are no significant chips present and most of the original paint and details are still present.
