  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is an early war (1942) OG Enlisted Man issue Stainless Steel Case screw back Waltham Model 10609 9-Jewel wrist watch with a plated brass case. This wonderful example has been fully cleaned, tested and runs perfectly. It was manufactured in 1942 for the US Army as indicated by the '42 marking on the movement. It has a white face with radium luminous numbers for night use. The band is an original period leather band with a bakelite buckle. These are very rarely found in this intact condition. The serial number of the watch is 05796.


    During WWII, Waltham supplied watches for the US Army, Navy, and Marine Corps [the Air Force was the Army Air Force]. In 1940, the Ordnance Department published the requirements for military watches. The list includes pocket, wrist, and stop watches.
