Item Description
Original Items. Only One Lot Available. This is a great lot of U.S. WWI Medals worn by members of the American Expeditionary Forces. The lot includes five medals and three collar discs, including both the U.S. & French-made variations of the Motor Transport Corps collar discs.
The items include:
- WWI Victory Medal with Three Clasps for Champagne-Marne, Aisne-Marne, and Oise-Aisne, three clasps that are part of the 28th Division’s battle record. This could be for a 28th Div. soldier who was wounded during Oise-Aisne and did not receive the Meuse-Argonne and Defensive Sector bars.
- WWI State of Delaware Victory Medal engraved J.H. DICKEY for James Harvey Dickey who enlisted on July 26th, 1918. Worthy of further research. The ribbon is splitting at the top but otherwise a good medal. One of the rarest state medals to find.
- WWI Borough of Sunbury, Pennsylvania Victory Medal. Had a population of 15,721 in 1920. Great example and hard to find.
- WWI French Croix de Guerre 1918 with two bronze stars, no pin. Great color on ribbon.
- WWI French Croix de Guerre 1918 with Palm, this example was attached to a fob for civilian wear, almost certainly by an American soldier to whom it was awarded. A great patina on this example!
- U.S. Collar Disc.
- U.S. Made Motor Transport Corps collar disc.
- Scarce French-made Motor Transport Corps collar disc with great pin-back.
A fantastic lot, ready for further research and display.
