Original Item. Only One Available. This is a gorgeous example of a WWI Period Marine Corps EGA Device. EGA stands for Eagle, Globe, Anchor, the three parts that make up the insignia. What specifies this example as World War I period is the globe having both latitude and longitude lines. After World War I, this was changed to just latitude lines. This example still retains most of its gilt finish and is likely one meant for a Bell Crown cap.
The device comes with its original fastener and its original washer. The washer would help keep the EGA affixed properly without rotating. Some examples had a pin behind the eagle to help this, but this example does not show signs of ever having one.
This is a scarce example, ready for further research and display!
