Original Item. Only One Available. This is a scarce period statue of the “Spirit of the American Doughboy” which was a common statue design used for soldier memorials after World War I. The majority of these that you find will have several missing pieces, such as the rifle, the haversack, and the soldier’s arm. This set appears to only be missing the bayonet on the end of the rifle, making this a scarce example!
The statue measures roughly 12” tall at the grenade throwing hand, with the base measuring 3½" x 3½". The front of the base reads SPIRIT OF THE AMERICAN DOUGHBOY and the back reads COPYRIGHTED BY E.M. VIQUESNEY SCULPTOR AMERICUS GEORGIA.
This is a very scarce statue in fantastic condition, ready for display. As-is!
