Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a gorgeous pocket bible taken to France during World War I by Harry F. We..k. The bible is clearly named on the interior cover but unfortunately his last name is a bit too difficult to read. The front of the bible is embedded with a French Colonial Troops Helmet badge, one of the scarcest helmet badges used by the French during the war. The interior cover notes that “the insignia was taken from a helmet of the French army which to me represents light. This book was light to me in dark France.”
The bible measures roughly 3¾ x 5”. It’s in good shape overall with some pages torn. This makes for a fantastic display piece with the badge on the front. A phenomenal example, ready for further research and display. His name could absolutely be discerned with enough searching. Comes ready for further research and display.
