Original Item. Only One Available. The war savings stamp (WSS) was a patriotic program used by the United States Treasury to help fund participation in World War I and World War II, and was principally aimed at school-age children. Savings stamps were available in ten cent and twenty-five cent versions, and provided interest. In some cases collections of stamps could be redeemed for war bonds.
This is a very attractive propaganda poster promoting “National War Savings Day”, which was June 28th, 1918. This poster is basically just promoting the sale of War Savings Stamps to support the war effort. The color is great and the design is modeled after the borders of treasury bonds & paper currency.
This poster is in great shape overall but there is some minor tearing with one largish tear along the bottom and scattered tears along the edges. The poster measures roughly 21 x 32”.
Comes ready to frame and display!
Note: This poster will be shipped rolled.
