Original U.S. WWI Named 12th Division Uniform Jacket with Numbered Collar Disc

Regular price $395.00

Item Description

Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. The 12th Division was an infantry division of the United States Army, active in 1918–1919. Established at Camp Devens, Massachusetts, the division's training was interrupted by the World War I armistice, and the division was later disbanded. Due to this, any material relating to the division is incredibly scarce, uniforms especially.

This is the M1912 Uniform jacket of Private First Class F.H. Frost, Company L, 42nd Infantry Regiment, 12th Division. Due to there not being a readily available roster of the 42nd, we are unable to fully identify this soldier, making for a great research project.

The wool uniform itself is in wonderful condition and exhibits minor wear and virtually no moth nips. The jacket has a gorgeous & scarce 12th Division patch, red honorable discharge chevron, and one stateside chevron on the left sleeve, with a PFC Infantry rank rate on the right sleeve. The collar discs are US and 42nd Infantry, Company L. Under the collar on the interior is the name F.H. FROST

A lovely uniform to a very scarce division, ready for further research and display.
