Original Item: Only One Available. The M1917 Enfield, the "American Enfield", formally named "United States Rifle, cal .30, Model of 1917" is an American modification and production of the .303-inch (7.7 mm) Pattern 1914 Enfield (P14) rifle (listed in British Service as Rifle No. 3), which was developed and manufactured during the period 1917–1918. Numerically, it was the main rifle used by the American Expeditionary Forces in Europe during World War I. The Danish Sirius Dog Sled Patrol in Greenland still use the M1917, which performs reliably in Arctic conditions, as their service weapon.
This is a very nice lower stock for a U.S. M1917 Enfield rifle, offered in very good surplus condition. It has been stripped of all metal components and fittings except for the trigger guard screw sleeves, cross screw and slotted nut in front of the receiver, and the two cross pins, one by the barrel band, and one at the rear of the receiver area. The only marking we can see is what appears to be a letter G on the front of the nose.
It is as we received it, out of long storage, and does show some staining from use, as well as some cracks. There is a "dutchman" style repair on the right side of the receiver area, and there is a crack on the right side of the butt stock by where the butt plate would be. Measures about 42 1/2 inches in length.
This would be a fantastic way to help restore a WWI Era M1917 Enfield rifle back to is original configuration!.
