Original Item. Only One Available. This is a stellar example of a rare dismounted variant of the M1912 Holster for the Colt M1911 Pistol. This variant of holster were made on military contract for other than mounted troops, wherein the swivel would not be required, thus reducing cost. The Signal Corps specifically requested such a holster 'without swivel and leg strap.'
This holster is in good service-worn condition with some wear to the hanger piece as is common with these 100+-year-old examples. There is a maker mark under the flap, HOYT 1918 J.C.M., which indicates the maker Hoyt, manufacture date of 1918, and inspected by J.C.M. Hoyt is F. M. Hoyt Shoe Co., of Manchester, New Hampshire.
Just perfect for a WWI issue 1911 .45 pistol!
