Item Description
Original Item: One Only. This is an outstanding example of the very scarce U.S. issue Kerr Standard Extension gun sling issued for the 1903 Springfield rifle. When properly attached, the sling has multiple length configurations, and is fully adjustable depending on how the Rifle was being held.
This example is constructed of tan colored webbing with the standard brass clip mountings. These are all marked with the NOBUCKL logo, along with PAT'D 7-21-14. The brass of the buckles is plated or "blacked", making them look like steel, a process used on a lot of U.S. military hardware in the first half of the 20th century. The canvas is in excellent condition, with no fraying or tears. It only has a bit of verdigris staining on the back where it was installed on a rifle for decades. The hardware is also in excellent condition for the age, with much of the original finish still present.
Designed to fit all U.S. military Issue M1903 Springfield variants with 26 inch sling swivel spacing and 1 1/4 inch wide sling swivels. This is the perfect sling to complete any 1903 Springfield collection.
