Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is an outstanding French-made U.S. WWI Engineer Officer’s uniform set with fantastic direct-embroidered collar insignia, the first time we’ve ever seen this for a WWI American officer. The jacket also has the extremely scarce Engineer officer’s button, giving this set fantastic character.
The collar has embroidered US & Engineer Castle insignia which is in fantastic condition. The color is brownish to give a brass insignia look. The buttons on the jacket are the proper Engineer Officer buttons, and with a lack of maker mark on the back, we believe these to be French-made as well. There are bullion First Lieutenant bars on the shoulders and one bullion overseas chevron on the left sleeve.
There is no name on the interior we could find. The lining shows heavy service wear.
The breeches are of the same maker without a tag or name, French-made. They match the jacket well and really tie the set together.
An outstanding French-made Engineer officer’s uniform, ready for further research and display!
