Item Description
Original Items: Only One Set Available. This is a great WWI U.S. Army field gear grouping! All pieces have maker markings, and are in a lovely WWI Khaki Color.
This set consists of:
- Original WWI US Dismounted M1910 Cartridge Belt for the M1903 Springfield Rifle, maker marked faintly under one of the pocket flaps with RUSSELL, for the Russell Manufacturing Co. of Alexander City, Alabama. This company would later go on to become Russell Athletic, and would also supply large amounts of field gear during WWII. Condition is very good, with some light wear, fading, and staining. All pockets are complete with working lift-the-dot snaps and interior stripper clip straps.
- Original U.S. WWI marked double .45 cal ammo pouch for the Colt 1911 Pistol. The back is also marked by maker RUSSELL, and has a 1918 date, which is clear. There are two 7 round "two-tone" 1911 pistol magazines contained in the pouch.
These magazines are not marked, as was standard, and are correct for the period 1915-1940. They do not have the lanyard loop on the bottom, and have a hidden base pinned from the sides. The two-tone finish is correct, as the magazine ends were tempered in molten cyanide after bluing, and this removed the bluing on that area. Given that they are in a 1918 dated pouch, we believe these to be WWI Issue. They have light peppering on the bluing, but otherwise look unissued.
- Original WWI U.S. Small First Aid pouch, which is maker marked on the back, but unclear. There are also markings stamped underneath the top flap.
All pieces offered in very good used condition. Ready to add to your display!
