Original Items. Only One Lot Available. This is a tremendous set of scarce felt-backed collar discs used by men of the American Expeditionary Forces after traveling into Germany. The Army of Occupation, or the 3rd Army, was the US forces residing in Germany after the end of the war.
There are four collar discs total, with two being US Discs and the other two being Engineer Discs, one with Company A. All four of the discs retain their screw-back. Two of the discs have some small moth holes in the red backing, great evidence of them always being with the discs. Cloth-backed discs are among some of the most difficult to find, making them extraordinarily scarce.
The color of the cloth backing varied a great deal, with many wearing colors based on their branch, and others just wearing red to signify the Army of Occupation.
A great set of discs, ready for further research and display!
