  • Original Items. Only One Lot Available. This is a great lot of WWI era headgear, both by great makers, both size 7, and both named on the interior.

The M1911 Campaign Hat is a private purchase officer’s example by Stetson, named several times under the sweatband to “Lt. Dewitt”. It was retailed by Lyford Woodward Co. in Bangor, Maine, possibly researchable. The officer’s cord is in great order but there is some heavy mothing on the underside of the brim, though luckily it’s just on the underside. The chinstrap is gone.

The M1910 Officer’s visor cap is a good example with a stiffener and American eagle badge to the front. The leather chinstrap is in good shape, still pliable. The size is 7, but it feels much larger than that. The sweatband is retained, but it has some stitching loss. The name Buchtenkirch / NYC is inscribed on the interior, and there’s a great maker’s marking for Abercrombie & Fitch Co. There is heavy sweat-staining, but this example is in great shape overall.

A fantastic pair of hats to fill out your collection! Ready for display.
