Original U.S. WWI Circular Brass Trench Art Lighter circa 1917 with U.S. and French Flag Emblem

Original Item: One of a Kind. Measuring 1 1/2" across, this pillow shaped brass cigarette lighter depicts the U.S. Spread Eagle surrounded by Stars on one side and Crossed flags on the other of what appear to be the U.S. Stars and Stripes and the French Tricolor, also with a background of stars. The hours of down time between actions left the soldiers with loads of time on their hands and Trench Art was the result. Now very collectible it is often still as useful as originally intended.
In full working order and complete including the little brass safety screw cap over the wick. In excellent condition and ready to use or display.
