Original U.S. WWI British Made Mk. I Helmet with Artistic Camouflage Pattern - Liner & Partial Chinstrap

Regular price $495.00

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a lovely example of the scarce WWI British MkI Brodie helmet, which was also the same type that was issued to American forces in the beginning of the US involvement during The Great War. The shell features extremely vibrant unique camouflage patterns that seem to mimic the linework of Van Gogh.

The helmet features a phenomenal camo pattern with white, orange, red, and brown splotches combining into a beautiful pattern. Even the underside of the brim is painted in a great white and red pattern, and the heat stamp is certainly now underneath the paint. The full liner is retained, with a partial chinstrap that has a combat cut in the leather, which allowed the strap to affix to the soldier’s chin. The outer shell of this helmet does show service wear, however most of the original textured paint is still present. The interior paint is retained as well, with the usual areas of oxidation and dirt.

The split pins on the chinstrap bales indicate this as a British made helmet.

This is a wonderful example of a unique camouflage pattern from World War I. Don’t miss it!
