Original Grouping. One-of-a-Kind. This is a really great identified World War I Victory Medal grouping named to Chief Mechanic Victor J. Lautier, Battery B, 321st Field Artillery Regiment, 82nd Division. The 82nd “All American” Division was composed of draftees from all 48 states in the country, thus the name. This was the division of famed Medal of Honor recipient Alvin York.

The grouping includes:
- Lautier’s WWI Victory Medal with bars for St. Mihiel, Meuse-Argonne, and Defensive Sector in its original shipping box with Victor’s name printed on the front. These are very difficult to find in the box. 
- Lautier’s WWI State of Connecticut Victory Medal in its original shipping box with his name and address written on the front. The ribbon is also included.
- Lautier’s WWI Collar discs including an extremely scarce 321st Field Artillery Battery B collar disc. 82nd Division collar discs are extremely difficult to find and sought after, and this one would likely fetch $150 on its own. The other disc is a normal Signal Corps disc, which was likely put with the group by mistake.
- Lautier’s Original Army Honorable Discharge certificate rolled up, along with an official printed copy of it. These discharges are very difficult to find especially with such a scarce unit. His engagements and other information are listed.
- Letter that accompanied his original Connecticut State Bonus for WWI Veterans. 

Lautier had a very important job as Chief Mechanic of his Battery, so he was in charge of keeping the artillery pieces in working order, a very difficult task considering they were trained with American artillery in the U.S. and had to be retrained with French artillery upon arriving overseas.

This is a really phenomenal grouping with some rare medals in their original boxes to a veteran of one of the most sought-after Divisions in the American Expeditionary Forces, ready for further research and display.
