Original U.S. WWI 82nd “All American” Division Machine Gunner Uniform Jacket & Trousers with Great Patch - Sergeant First Class

Original Item: Only One Available. This is an excellent example of an 82nd Division WWI uniform. The best feature of the tunic is the accented 82nd Division patch located on the left shoulder. It is a square patch with stylized letter A’s in the national colors, red, white, and blue. Activated in 1917 during World War I, as a division, it was nicknamed the All American, because it was composed of draftee soldiers from all 48 states.
The uniform itself is in wonderful condition and exhibits minor wear and scattered moth nips. The left shoulder features a lovely AA “All Americans” insignia. The insignia itself is beautiful and still completely attached. The chevrons present are a single red discharge stripe on the left sleeve, and two inverted overseas chevrons on the lower left cuff denoting 12-18 months of overseas service, both sets still completely attached and in wonderful condition with cross-stitching on the overseas chevrons. There are Sergeant First Class (After May 1918) chevrons on the right sleeve, and US & Machine Gun Battalion discs on the collar. This could denote either the 319th, 320th, or 321st Machine Gun Battalions.
The trousers are in similar condition without many issues. The wool of the patch is a bit worn with nipping as well. A fantastic & gorgeous uniform group to Alvin York’s Division with tons of character.
A lovely uniform ready for further research and display.
