Original U.S. WWI 317th Infantry 80th Division Soldier Dog Tag, Medal, & Captured German Shoulder Board Grouping - Photos & Wallet

Original Grouping. One-of-a-Kind. This is a really tremendous WWI Ephemera grouping named to George Hamilton Graham, Company E, 317th Infantry Regiment, 80th Division. The grouping includes much of his ephemera from France, including two very nice captured German shoulder boards.
The grouping includes:
- Graham’s original dog tags on their string, with his serial number, 1817943.
- Graham’s French-made tag with his name and hometown of McDowell, Virginia.
- Graham’s Victory Medal with bars for Somme Offensive, Meuse-Argonne, and Defensive Sector, with the 3-star ribbon also retained.
- His collar discs, U.S. & Company E.
- 80th Division Patch, some moth nips.
- His Honorable discharge chevron, two Overseas chevrons, and Private First Class Crossed rifles rate.
- His Red Cross ditty bag.
- American legion pin.
- Captured 238th Infantry Regiment German shoulder board.
- Captured red 8th Regiment German shoulder board with heavy mothing.
- Three photos of him in France, one with his gas mask and pistol belt on, another with him shaking hands with a French soldier, and one with him and his buddies looking out windows. Also a photo of a ship.
- The pin from a likely French grenade. Great piece!
- His wallet with a photo of his girlfriend/wife inside.
George Hamilton Graham was born Jan. 12, 1888 in Missouri a son of the late George T. and Susan Hamilton Graham. The family moved back to Highland County in 1890 and the deceased spent most of the remainder of his life here. He was engaged in farming most of his life. A veteran of World War I, he volunteered Sept. 15, 1917 at Camp Lee, Va. and served with Company E, 317th Regement, 80th Division in France from May 25, 1918 to June 1, 1919, participating in the battles of Picardy, St Miheil and Meuse-Argonne. He was a member of McDowell Presbyterian Church, where he was a member of the Session and a Sunday School teacher for many years. He passed away on April 16th, 1966, at the age of 78.
This is a fantastic grouping to a very sought-after division. Ready for further research and display.
