Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a gorgeous WWI Victory Medal with 5 campaign bars, for Champagne-Marne, Aisne-Marne, Oise-Aisne, Meuse-Argonne, and Defensive Sector. The medal is in its original box named to Sergeant Jesse K. Ainsworth, Headquarters, 103rd Supply Train, 28th Division, Pennsylvania National Guard. This division was nicknamed the “Iron Division” and saw more combat than most.
The medal is in fantastic condition with minor fraying on the ribbon but overall it’s great. The box comes with the original small card with the bars named on it. The box itself also has these stamps. This is a fantastic example of a scarce-to-find medal in its original box, identified and ready for further research and display.
Jesse K. Ainsworth was born in Gailes Creek, Oregon in 1891 and moved to Morganza, Pennsylvania at a young age. He enlisted in the Pennsylvania National Guard on July 13, 1917 and was assigned to the 103rd Supply Train, 28th Division. He served overseas from May 27th, 1918 until January 16th, 1919, being discharged in February.
