Original U.S. WWI 1st Army Engineer Sergeant’s Uniform Jacket with Lovely Embroidered Patch & Scarce 1910-Dated Breeches

Original Item. Only One Available. This is a gorgeous American Expeditionary Forces uniform set to a Sergeant in an Engineer regiment of the 1st Army. This set has a lovely embroidered French-made Engineer castle patch, and a very scarce early set of breeches dated 1910!
The uniform jacket is in great condition and shows heavy discoloration from sweat-staining on the interior, a great sign that this uniform was worn heavily overseas! The jacket has a 1st Army patch (Large A) with an Engineer Castle inside of it, for 1st Army Engineers. Below this is a red honorable discharge chevron, and below this is a set of two overseas chevrons, denoting 12-17 months of overseas service. The right sleeve has a Sergeant’s rate. The collar bears US and Engineer Castle collar insignia. There is a contract tag under the lining of the jacket but it is too worn to read the date.
The breeches are very interesting as they have a contract date of October 1910, with the inspector’s name written very nicely on the tag. Uniform pieces from the pre-WWI period are very scarce.
This is a great uniform set, ready for further research and display!
