  • Original Items: Only One Set Available. The American Field Service (1914-1917) was a volunteer ambulance corps comprised of mostly college men from the US. The American Field Service (AFS) of nearly 2,500 operated ambulances in direct support of French combat divisions, transporting the wounded from the front lines to field hospitals. This set is comprised of the following pieces:

    - Extremely Rare World War One American Ambulance France Bronze Wing Hat Badge. 3 13/16", screw-back with two applied flexible stabilization pins. The shield has "American Ambulance" above a Geneva cross, and "France" below.

    - Great War American Field Service

    - 1918 Red Cross pin

AFS material is very rare due to the fact that there were comparatively few personnel assigned to the service, the cap bade is one of the hardest to find American badges of World War One.
