Original U.S. Vietnam War USMC Fighting Knuckle Knife & Binder Grouping - Sgt. Richard G. Duran - 26th Marines

Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a tremendous fighting knife grouping belonging to Sergeant Richard G. Duran, Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 26th Marine Regiment. The group includes Duran’s gorgeous personalized KA-BAR Fighting knife which has been modified with a knuckle handguard as well as Duran’s unit & personal information. The knife comes in its original scabbard along with Duran’s dog tags, insignia, and a binder full of reproduced photographs & documents pertaining to his service.

The group includes:

- Duran’s KA-BAR Fighting Knife which has been modified with an aluminum knuckle handguard and “skullcrusher” on the pommel. The ricasso is stamped USMC and KA-BAR on the other side. The blade itself has Richard G. Duran 5852206 USMC stamped in white on one side. The knuckle-guard has Duran’s unit info stamped into the aluminum KILO 3RD BN 26TH MAR with GET SOME on the opposite side, a really charming personalization. It features original stacked leather washer grip, which is in good condition with no cracks or splitting. This is one of the coolest personalized knives we have ever seen! Comes in its original leather scabbard retaining original securing strap. 
- Duran’s dog tags on chain, with name, number, blood type (B Pos), and religion, Church of Christ. Great pair.
- Duran’s EGA (Eagle, Globe, Anchor), likely from his Campaign Hat. Marked KREW on the back. 
- Duran’s Staff Sergeant rank pin, from his time training new marines. There is a photo in the binder of him and his Platoon 2059 in San Diego, September 7th, 1979, when he was a Staff Sergeant.
- Large binder measuring 10 x 12” with cover for Kilo Company with insignia, 1969-70 Vietnam. Binder includes copies of his promotion certificates, service record, photos of him in yearbooks and group photos, photos of him overseas and stateside, photos of the knife, outlines of operations he took place in, just a fantastic ton of reference to accompany this already phenomenal knife. Research doesn’t get much better than this.

This is a phenomenal fighting knife grouping with amazing personalization, truly one of the best Vietnam War fighting knives we have ever come across. Pieces with this much character don’t show up often, so don’t miss out. Comes ready for further research and display. GET SOME!
