Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice US Vietnam War era Combat Vehicle Crewman (CVC) Helmet model T56-6. These Helmets were worn by crewmen aboard Tanks and other Combat Vehicles. The Helmet comes complete with headphones built in and adjustable microphone, which are attached to the correct ISC Telephonics Model SA-1552/G Transceiver mounted on the left side of the helmet. The helmet appears to have never been issued out and still retains all original paint. The helmet is complete with an original bag of 6 Foam Rubber Inserts for the helmet. There is a size marking on the interior, 35.
The CVC helmet was made of laminated ballistic nylon and was worn by crew members requiring access to a vehicle's communication system. The helmet was intended to offer head protection inside the vehicle but it did provide some protection against shrapnel. Both the Army and the Marine Corps used the CVC helmet in a number of vehicles.
This example is in TRUE unissued condition with the original shipping wrapping material around the microphone. The bag of foam rubber inserts has a tag that reads:
FOAM RUBBER INSERTS

DIAMETER THICKNESS F S N QTY
GENTEX CORP.
CARBONDALE PENNA.
