Original Item: Only One Available. This is 1960s Cold War / Vietnam War Era U.S. military issue TUL-1 training replica rifle, with folded bipod and leather sling. The military calls these rifles Rubber Ducks. This is full size, true to weight, non-firing replica made of hard rubber, molded from an original. The left side of the "receiver" sight base is marked:
VIET-NAM TOL-1
1976 0640
These markings indicate that the rifle this was molded off of was acquired in Vietnam in 1976. The marking "TOL-1" should in fact read "TUL-1", but this looks to be the second version made, so the mold may have needed repair.
These were used for training by the military so they would not ruin a real rifle and as a safety precaution to prevent accidental discharges. It measures 40 inches long, and is in very good condition. The rubber is solid and is very detailed without any cracks or splitting, though the sling is definitely worn. The right butt stock still shows faint markings from when it was made at the Fort Knox Training Support Center:

The Vietnamese TUL-1 rifle was a very interesting combination of the Chinese Type 56 Assault right with the stock and hardware of a Russian RPK, and an AK-47 / Type 56 30 round magazine. Thousands of TUL-1 LMGs were manufactured for use on the battlefields between 1970-1972. Production of the TUL-1 ended after Vietnam obtained production rights to the RPK itself. The rifle continues to be in service to this day in some areas.
